Description:

At Daffodil Hill, stone walls grace the entire property in typical New England fashion.  The grounds are bursting with wonderful plantings and a variety of wildlife and unusual birds are frequent visitors.  Daffodil Hill is comprised of two homes, the Cape and the Barn.  These gorgeous dollhouse homes dating back to the early 1800’s are nestled in the scenic hills of Litchfield County, Connecticut.  Just 1.5 hours from New York City and 1 hour from Bradley International Airport near Hartford, Connecticut, a visit to Daffodil Hill is perfect for a weekend get-away or for a visit with relatives or friends in the area.

The Cape, built in 1812, was once the home of the local blacksmith and his family.  It retains all the charm of a historic house with hand strewn chestnut floors and exposed wood beams throughout.  Updated with modern conveniences, including air conditioning, it has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.

The Barn, built in 1820, was the blacksmith’s pride and joy where he took care of the local travelers on what was once known as the old dirt trace running between Boston and New York City.  Over the years, the Barn has been lovingly restored and is now a luxury getaway destination.  Its 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms sleep 4 comfortably, but can accommodate up to 6 guests.  An extra large living room centers around a wonderful granite fireplace and has a color TV, DVD/VCR, Stereo, Cable, DSL internet access and unlimited local telephone access.  There is also a wonderful sunroom with an additional couch and seating to watch the chipmunks chase each other in the stone wall, to read one of the many books found in our library or to simply enjoy the peace and quiet.  The Barn has a fully equipped kitchen, dining room and full service laundry room.  And, all linens and towels are provided.

Consider Daffodil Hill for parties, wedding or photo shoots.  Its history and wonderful natural setting make it perfect for that memorable occasion!
