Description:
Just 1.5 hours from New York City, the Barn, part of the property known as "Daffodil Hill", is located in Merryall, the historic district of New Milford. Walks in the neighborhood will take you to the scenic little chapel dating from the early 1800’s, past the picturesque horse farm and across breathtaking vistas you only find in photographs.
Merryall is equidistant to the charming little towns of Kent, New Preston, New Milford and Washington, all of which have wonderful restaurants and fabulous antique stores. Pristine Lake Waramaug is right down the road as are several golf courses including the highly acclaimed Bulls Bridge course. The Barn is easily accessible from Route 7, Route 22
or Route 202.
The Barn has two wonderful lounging areas. The living room has beamed ceilings, and a stone fireplace and television with cable, DVD and a VCR. For more quiet introspection, there is the sunroom entered from the living room through French doors. It is the perfect place to laze away the days as its design incorporates the principles of feng shui. Adjacent to this sunroom, is a lovely garden maintained by a professional landscaper and a yard enclosed by a fence and a stone wall. You will love watching the different birds visiting the yard and enjoy the occasional chipmunk running through the stones. On the other side of the living room, there is an outdoor pergola with rustic, Adirondack seating to enjoy your morning coffee while listening to the nearby creek. The home is adjacent to the local land preserve, which guarantees plenty of privacy.
Kitchen is newly renovated with granite counters and Waterworks slate floors. Home has two bedrooms and two baths. One bedroom has a queen bed while the other has two twin beds. Both bathrooms have pedestal sinks while one bathroom has a tub/shower and the other a shower stall. House has two couches for additional sleeping areas. There is DSL service and unlimited calling for local and long distance calls. All kitchen implements and linens provided.
